Home Defense Course

Course Description:

The Home Defense Course is designed to teach the tactics and strategies for defending one’s home against a home invasion by a single or multiple threats as a single individual, not a member of a four-man team.  This course concentrates on three strategies, Fight in place, Fight to a safe area and barricade or Fight to escape. The key is that you must fight. This course will show you ways to improve your stance in the home and use the knowledge you have against the invaders. This course is not a beginner or intermediate course. You will be required to know how to implement the many different techniques of weapons handling and use against single and multiple threats in a confined space. There is also shooting while moving required. The student will learn to use the Rifle or Pistol in these areas. There are no shotguns allowed in the shoot house for this course. This course will use Live Ammunition and Ultimate Training Munitions Man MArker Rounds as part of the course. To introduce the Tactics Techniques and Procedures for this course the students will engage in UTM force on Force scenarios and then move over to single person Movement using live ammunition. The 360-degree shoothouse replicates all facets of modern home designs and is reconfigurable in minutes. This allows the students to do multiple scenarios in different ways to best learn the techniques.

  • Diminishing Over-Penetration Effects on Targets
  • Clearing a Room on the Move
  • Dynamic Clearing Techniques
  • Methodical Clearing Techniques
  • Reducing your Signature and Location
  • Clearing in Depth
  • Clearing in Width

Course Requirements:

  • Weapon you carry or have at home (Handgun, Rifle, Shotgun or all three)
  • 3 Magazines
  • Weather Appropriate Clothing (Good Shoes)
  • Eye Protection
  • Hearing Protection
  • 100 Rounds of Ammo
